Global Access Breaking New Ground In the Medical Industry this Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Title 10000001

As the nation stands in unison and support of breast cancer awareness this month, Global Access breaks new ground in the medical industry with a new private medical Learning Channel; Medi-Talk, which is broadcast on our private DStv channel.

Global Access in partnership with The Write Agency; a strategic communications and marketing agency, had an objective coming into the Medi-Talk project, which was to create a medical learning channel for Doctors and Pharmacists, for the purposes of further educating our country’s world class medical professionals and healthcare providers that are registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa.

The value lies in the fact that the viewers attain CPD points (as is required of them by the Health Professional Council of South Africa) by tuning into the Global Access channel  where a live lecture is held, and viewers are given the opportunity to engage and ask questions too, as they would at a seminar.

What are CPD points? CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development, and is a compulsory requirement with a set of guidelines determined by the Health Professional Council of South Africa where ‘Continuing Education Units’ are awarded for attendance at accredited events and successfully completing educational courses. So instead of the doctors having to attend seminars to get their CPD points they can now also gain CPD points by simply viewing the Medi-Talk broadcasts on Global Access’ private DStv Channel.

This broadcast is private and exclusive to Medi-Talk’s select audience, controlled by us activating the viewers DStv smartcards. By making use of the Global Access Television Broadcasting and Streaming option, it increases the reach and enables you to communicate and train doctors and pharmacists in a cost effective way.

Of course the HPSA also requires all educational content to be accredited by an approved accreditor of the Health Professional Council of South Africa in compliance with their CPD guidelines, of which all lectures and content aired on the Global Access channel, are.
